GES fullfills the 1-Teacher-1 Laptop programme by presenting 17,000 laptops to teachers

The Ghana Schooling Administration has given over workstations to seventeen thousand (17,000) educators the nation over to support illustration readiness, exploration, and instructing.

In order to improve teaching and learning outcomes in pre-tertiary educational institutions across the nation and enhance education delivery through information technology, the One-Teacher-One Laptop program was launched in 2021.

Under the program, government covers 70% of the PC’s expense. The remaining 30% is paid by teachers.

Although some public school teachers were fortunate to receive theirs in 2022, many others paid for it but were unable to receive it.

Teachers have finally received the laptops that will aid in the teaching and learning process, despite delays in their distribution.

We appreciate the teachers’ patience throughout. The Minister of Education has put in a lot of effort and pushed these suppliers to complete the supplies.

“It’s a relief for everyone because we would want every teacher to have access to these technological devices given the kind of transformation that we are seeing in our country in the field of education. When Dr. Eric Nkansah, Director-General of the Ghana Education Service, presented the laptops to the teachers, he stated, “So, these laptops will come in to support teaching and learning.”

The recipients hope that the laptops will help them teach better.

It’s been so frustrating to have your money taken away but not to receive the device. However, sooner is better than later. It will assist us with our exploration”, an instructor, Osei Kwadwo expressed.

Another teacher, Florence Gyimah, stated, “I knew the laptops would be delivered, particularly as we approach elections.” I believe it will help me conduct research for improved teaching and learning now that I have mine.

The ongoing distribution is part of a national effort to ensure that the program benefits all public school teachers.
