I’m the Most Awarded Artist from the First Edition of HMB-UEMA Till Now – Nambawan

On the 12th of this month, the CEO of Charger Limited, Dr. Emmanuel Bortey Borketey, honored his commitment to some winners of select categories from the recent Happy Man Bitters Upper East Music Awards (HMB-UEMA) at Tap Hotel, Bolgatanga.

During the event, Nambawan used the platform to assert, “I’m the most awarded artist from the first edition of HMB-UEMA till now,” a milestone that underscores his dominance and consistent excellence in the music industry within the region.

The recognition came during a star-studded event that celebrated the region’s vibrant music scene and honored outstanding talents.

In an interview following the ceremony, Nambawan reflected on his journey and the significance of his achievements. “Right now, as you can see, three awards added to my name. I just want to set this right for everybody in the building—there’s something I’ve never said, but you know, we don’t boast too much because of where we come from, that’s the street,” he stated. “I’m the most awarded artist in this game from the first edition till now. If anybody thinks they have more awards than me, fine, come on, let’s present them.”

Nambawan’s success is not just a testament to his talent but also to his ability to connect with diverse audiences. This year, he noted a shift in his musical approach, aiming to cater more to the “street” audience while still acknowledging the support of those who appreciate his past works.

A significant part of Nambawan’s journey has been the support from Charger Limited, the company behind HappyMan Bitters. He lauded their commitment to the region, saying, “I wholly support whatever they are doing. It’s a great initiative, especially for a company like Charger Limited, to discover a place like Upper East and decide to invest. We’ve had a lot of companies that came and went away, but they are with us, and they’ve been with us. I think it’s the fourth year, right? We are only encouraging them to do more and to still have us as their own.”

The HappyMan Bitters Upper East Music Awards, now in its fourth year, has become a cornerstone for recognizing and promoting local talent. Nambawan, one of the significant beneficiaries of this initiative, emphasized the importance of such platforms in providing artists with opportunities to thrive and gain recognition.

As the most awarded artist in the history of these awards, Nambawan’s story is one of resilience, talent, and the power of community support. His accolades not only celebrate his musical prowess but also highlight the growing influence and potential of the Upper East region’s music industry. With Charger Limited’s continued investment and support, the future looks promising for many more artists following in Nambawan’s footsteps.
