Prophet Kofi Oduro Warns Politicians Against Disrespecting Nkrumah

Prophet Kofi Oduro, the head pastor of Alabaster International Ministries, has issued a stern warning to politicians about the importance of respecting Ghana’s first president, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. He emphasized that Nkrumah’s unparalleled achievements in governance make him a leader without equal in Ghana’s history.
During a sermon to his congregants, Prophet Oduro stated, “Anybody who wants to win an election in this country, if you disrespect Nkrumah, it will not be well with you. Your governance cannot be compared to Nkrumah. What have you done in government to make this comparison? Is it the building of toilet facilities and those useless things? Let your work speak for you, not your bragging. From the first republic to the third, nobody comes close to Nkrumah.”
This statement comes in the wake of comments by Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who claimed that President Akufo-Addo has outperformed all previous leaders, including Nkrumah, a remark that sparked significant backlash.
President Akufo-Addo, in his Founder’s Day speech, also mentioned that he rejects the notion that a single individual single-handedly founded Ghana, further fueling the ongoing debate.
Prophet Oduro’s warning reflects the broader sentiment among Ghanaians who believe that Nkrumah’s legacy should be honored and not disparaged. The controversy underscores the continued reverence for Nkrumah’s contributions and the sensitivity surrounding his legacy in political discourse.
