Tragic Blast in Gomoa Buduburam Claims 8 Lives, Raises Safety Concerns
A tragic incident unfolded at Gomoa Buduburam in the Gomoa East District, claiming the lives of around eight people. A contractor working on the Kasoa-Winneba road conducted blasting activities as part of the construction process. However, the blast went awry, leading to extensive destruction and multiple casualties.
An eyewitness, present in the market at the time, noted that the contractor usually informs the community before blasting, but this time no warning was given. “Normally, they inform us before blasting, but today, we didn’t receive any warning,” she shared.
The blast resulted in significant damage to nearby buildings and vehicles, with reports confirming the loss of eight lives and numerous injuries. The community has been left devastated, struggling to cope with the shock of the incident.
