My Calling is to Touch Lives Through Music, Not Politics – Stonebwoy

Celebrated Ghanaian musician, Livingstone Etse Satekla, known in the entertainment world as Stonebwoy, has made it clear that he has no immediate plans to delve into politics.
The award-winning artist stressed that his current focus is on leveraging his platform as a musician to inspire and positively impact lives. He believes his music and public influence are sufficient to drive meaningful change without the need for a political title.
In an interview on Joy FM, Stonebwoy remarked, “Being a musician is one of the biggest platforms you can have. Imagine being blessed to this level—you already have power. In that capacity, you can do the Lord’s work and contribute to the public good without necessarily holding political office.”
His comments follow the outcomes of the 2024 parliamentary elections, which saw some entertainers, like actor John Setor Dumelo and musician Kwame Asare Obeng (A Plus), transition into politics.
Dumelo emerged victorious in Ayawaso West Wuogon under the National Democratic Congress (NDC), while A Plus won the Gomoa Central seat as an independent candidate.
While Stonebwoy applauded their achievements, he reaffirmed his commitment to his current path, emphasizing that his music and actions already serve as a form of national service.
“I admire what others are doing in politics, but for now, my calling is to touch lives through my music and actions. That’s how I give back to the nation,” he concluded.
