25-Year-Old Dephine Kafela Baduweh Needs Urgent Help to Survive End-Stage Kidney Disease

Dephine Kafela Baduweh, a vibrant 25-year-old, is battling End-Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD), a life-threatening condition that has left her in desperate need of haemodialysis and a kidney transplant. Currently receiving care at the Renal Unit of the Tamale Teaching Hospital, Dephine’s situation is critical, and her family is struggling to fund her treatment.

According to Dr. Aliyu D. Umar, the Medical Officer managing her case, Dephine requires haemodialysis three times a week to survive. Each session costs GH₵400, bringing her weekly treatment cost to GH₵1,200—an amount that is beyond the reach of her family. Haemodialysis is only a temporary solution, as the ultimate treatment for her condition is a kidney transplant, which must be performed outside Ghana at an estimated cost of $35,000.
A Plea for Public Assistance
Unfortunately, Dephine’s family lacks the financial means to cover the cost of her haemodialysis sessions, let alone the kidney transplant. Her loved ones are appealing to the public for urgent support to save her life.
Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a difference. Individuals, organizations, and philanthropists are encouraged to donate to help Dephine receive the lifesaving treatment she urgently needs.
