St. John Bosco’s College Holds 13th Congregation Ceremony, Graduates 318 Students -Check Here

St. John Bosco’s College of Education has held its 13th Congregation Ceremony, graduating 318 trained teachers (2023 batch).

The ceremony held on Friday, 20th February, 2025, was graced by various dignitaries, staff, and proud families, all gathered to honor the achievements of the graduates.

In his speech, the Acting Principal Dr. Rudolph Nyaaba appealed to the government for an increase in the college’s admission quota to accommodate more students.

He emphasized that the current quota is insufficient, preventing many qualified applicants from gaining admission.

“The admission quota for the college should be increased to cater for the large number of applicants we receive annually, of which only a few are admitted. A larger student population would allow the college to generate enough Internally Generated Funds (IGF) to support its developmental needs,” Dr. Nyaaba stated.

Dr. Nyaaba also highlighted the need for the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) to grant clearance for recruiting additional staff, as the shortage of both teaching and non-teaching personnel is affecting the college’s operations.

Furthermore, he stressed the importance of refurbishing and retooling the college’s laboratories and workshops to enhance the training of science and mathematics teachers.

“The college’s laboratories, workshops, and equipment are outdated and non-functional. These facilities need urgent refurbishment to meet the standards of TVET colleges of education,” he added.
